Solid European Oak

In Russia, we select Oak trees from the forest that are suitable for felling. These trees will be approaching maturity at up to 100 years of age. The trees we cut have a diameter of up to 1.2 mtrs.

After felling, the trees are sawn into wide lumber and into square blocks according to the widths we require. These are then taken to the kilns where we dry them over a period of about 30 days from about 40% moisture content, to 8% - 11% moisture content.

The dried timber is then taken to the mills where we turn it into finished products. In this case, solid oak flooring in a variety of sizes and types.
The flooring is then sent by container and lorry to a variety of destinations and customers.

In the UK, the lorries go direct to a number of our customers. Other lorries come to our warehouse in Hertford, where we unload them and store the flooring according to its size and type.
